For adults, like most practices in the area, we are not currently able to accept new NHS patients, and genuine NHS availability locally is very limited. Are you taking new NHS patients?

For children, yes. We take children on the NHS and treatment is free for under-18s, and for under-19s in full-time education, so just ring reception. For adults, no, not at present, and we don’t keep an NHS waiting list. Existing NHS patients of the practice continue to receive their care as usual, and we welcome new private patients.

Is private dental care expensive?

Less than most people expect. A new patient examination is £89 including X-rays, and our full price list is published openly on our fees page. On the plan, routine care works out from £15.95 a month.

What if I have a dental emergency and no NHS dentist?

Call us on 01625 574609 as early in the day as you can. We see urgent problems during opening hours where we possibly can, and we always give you the cost before treatment. Out of hours, call NHS 111.

I’m an existing NHS patient here. Does anything change?

No. Your care continues exactly as normal, and the NHS charges information below applies to you.

NHS charges for our existing NHS patients

The charge you pay depends on the treatment you need to keep your teeth and gums healthy. All charges apply to an overall course of treatment, not the individual items within it. You only pay one charge for each course of treatment, even if you need to visit more than once to finish it.

If you need more treatment within the same charge band (for example, an additional filling) within two months of completing a course of treatment, you do not pay anything extra. You do not have to pay to have dentures repaired, for having stitches out, or if your dentist has to stop bleeding. Nor do you pay if your dentist only needs to write a prescription, though the usual prescription charge applies when you collect your medicine.
