Composite Veneers in Bollington & Macclesfield.
A natural-looking smile transformation in a single visit, from £225 per tooth.
Composite veneers are one of the most popular ways to transform a smile without drilling, injections or laboratory work. A thin layer of tooth-coloured composite resin is sculpted directly onto the front of each tooth, reshaping, brightening and closing gaps in a single appointment.
At Bollington Dental Practice we offer both composite and porcelain veneers, so our advice on which is right for you is genuinely impartial. We will always recommend the option that suits your teeth, your budget and your goals, not the one on the price list.
What are composite veneers?
A composite veneer is built up by hand, layer by layer, using the same high-quality resin we use for composite bonding. The difference is coverage: bonding usually repairs or refines a specific chip or edge, while a veneer covers the whole front surface of the tooth to change its shape and colour. The result is sculpted and polished in the same visit, so you walk out with your new smile the same day.
Composite veneers vs porcelain veneers
Both can look superb. The honest differences:
- Price: composite veneers cost from £225 per tooth; porcelain veneers from £650 per tooth.
- Tooth preparation: composite veneers usually need little or no drilling, so the treatment is reversible in most cases. Porcelain veneers usually involve preparing the tooth surface.
- Longevity: well-maintained composite veneers typically last around five to seven years before needing a refresh or repolish. Porcelain is more durable and stain-resistant, often lasting ten to fifteen years.
- Repairs: composite is easy to repair or adjust in the chair. Porcelain repairs usually mean a replacement veneer.
- Time: composite is completed in one visit. Porcelain takes two or more visits with laboratory work in between.
As a rule of thumb, composite suits patients who want an affordable, low-commitment transformation now, and porcelain suits those who want maximum durability and stain resistance for the long term. We cover both in more detail on our cosmetic dentistry page, and set bonding, composite veneers and porcelain against each other in our guide to composite bonding versus veneers.
How long do composite veneers last?
With good care, around five to seven years is typical before they benefit from repolishing or refreshing. Composite can pick up staining from tea, coffee and red wine over time, but unlike natural staining it can usually be polished away at a hygiene appointment. Avoiding biting nails, pens and ice makes a real difference to their lifespan.

Fantastic care. My teenage daughter broke her front tooth badly. Within 4 hours of calling, they were able to squeeze in an emergency appointment, and Ellie and the team did the most fantastic cosmetic repair, such that it looked like nothing had happened at all. Really good service, and really appreciated. Thank you.

I hadn’t visited a dentist for many years as I wear dentures. However, I needed some new dentures, and as I live in Bollington, I decided to book at my local surgery. I cannot praise them enough. They were very easy to deal with, and Ellie, the dentist who took care of me, was very helpful and reassuring. I highly recommend the surgery.

Immaculately clean. Seen on time. Good premises, modern and fit for purpose. Seen on time, and a choice of follow-up appointment dates and times offered. Very efficient admin/receptionist. I have NO negative comments.
